A cooking competition is being held to coincide with World Food Day, which kicks off at 9am on Saturday, November 18, at Delap Park. The deal is to prepare your best dish using local ingredients and/or products of the islands. Points will be based on cleanliness, presentation, number of local ingredients used, creativity, and taste. The dish should be enough to serve three people (small portions for the judges to taste). The top three participants will win $200, $150, and $100.
Cooks need to bring their own cooking equiment and ingredients and be at the event at 11am, two hours before the competition start time of 1pm. There will be a maximum of one hour to cook the dish. A health certificate is not required. Up to 10 participants will be accepted.
