Early Childhood Development

Over the past year or so, President Hilda Heine and former Chief Secretary Ben Graham worked hard on a project that would ensure a better future for infants and young children. To do this they teamed with the World Bank.
According to the bank, we “chose to conduct the first early childhood development project in the Pacific Islands region in the Marshall Islands in 2019. The project is designed to support early childhood development in areas such as reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health and nutrition services, with a focus on the first 1,000 days of life.
“The project will also promote primary school readiness by enhancing support to parents and increasing access to early learning services. In 2018, the World Bank launched its global Human Capital Project, an ambitious global initiative to accelerate investments in people.”
