Bank of Marshall Islands: This bank is the main source of loans to residents. It is located in Uliga, next to the post office and opposite RRE Hotel. All of the main banking services are available (except foreign currency exchange). (692) 625-3636
Bank of Guam: In the K&K Island Pride Supermarket complex in Delap. All international banking services are available (except foreign currency exchange). Phone: (692) 625-3322, 625-3331.
ATM machines: There are three ATM’s on Majuro. The locations are Bank of Guam next to K&K Island Pride supermarket, Payless Supermarket (just inside the door), and RRE Hotel (next to the hotel entrance stairway).
Note: If the island has had a power outage, the machines may be down until Bank of Guam staff reset it. Sadly, the machines run out of cash on a regular basis.
Credit cards: Only the larger hotels, restaurants and stores accept credit cards.
Money transfers: These can be made through Western Union in the RRE office opposite RRE Hotel in Uliga or at Island Pride Supermarket in Delap. The Bank of Marshall Islands also has the MoneyGram service.
Wire transfers: Bank of Guam has this service, but it costs $25 for incoming and outgoing transfers.
Social Security: Retirement and health fund taxes are the domain of the Marshall Islands Social Security Administration, more commonly known as MISSA. See their website below:
