Amata Kabua International Airport, also known as Marshall Islands International Airport, is on the south side of Majuro Atoll.
The local carrier is Air Marshall Islands, while the two primary international airlines are United Airlines and Nauru Airlines.
The airport was built during World War II, replacing the earlier airfield built by Japanese forces in 1942. The current terminal and runway were constructed in 1971 with improvements made between 2007 and 2009.
Construction for a new terminal began in March, 2026. It is being located in the former carpark, causing a temporary glitch for car owners.
Hotel buses and taxis are always available at the terminal entrance. If taking a taxi, it’s best to check beforehand how much the fare to town is and then check with the driver? (That said, it is extremely unusual for a driver to overcharge.)
Note: There is a departure fee of $20 on international flights.

Airport details: The terminal has a cafe-style restaurant and a watering hole called The Hangar Bar. Inside the departure lounge, having gone through the Immigration process, there is a smaller snack bar which sells water, sodas and alcoholic beverages.
