The Mieco Beach Yacht Club is designed to be a social and informational group for cruisers and like-minded people ashore. The weekly Tuesday night dinners are a major part of the “glue” that keeps everyone in touch with what’s going on in Majuro and the outer islands of the Marshall Islands. Become a Mieco Beach Yacht Club Member
Individual memberships are $30. Couples are $40 (two cards). Renewals are $25 for individuals and $35 each for couples. Memberships are renewed at the end of October each year. The card offers members great discounts around town (see below for details and to download the Mieco Beach Yacht Club membership application form).
Our Story
The Mieco Beach Yacht Club was founded in 2004 by Liz Rodick (current manager of EZ Price Mart), Grant James (former general manager of the former Outrigger Resort, now the Marshall Islands Resort), Cary Evarts (current yacht club Vice-Commodore), Karen Earnshaw (current yacht club Publicity Director), and Ron Douglas (formerly of the yacht Kaimana).
The group’s goal was to provide entertainment for the cruisers by holding races, rallies, and other social activities, which in turn would attract more cruising yachts to the Marshall Islands.
Dee Johnson, a RMI High Court Judge, was elected Commodore and the first race was held on Sunday, November 11, 2004.
After Dee left island, another High Court Judge, Richard Hickson, became the Commodore. He was followed by Liz Rodick, Cary Evarts, Karen Earnshaw, Pete Allen, Clementine Ellasos, Rebecca ‘Becky’ Lathrop, Chuck Gauthier, Peter Hartman, Mark Stearns and, currently, John Phillips.
Over the years, the club’s committee has included many energetic and enthusiastic members and to all those people, we say komol tata (thank you).

Free Club Moorings and Commercial Moorings
The Mieco Beach Yacht Club’s free moorings, which were created thanks to a grant from the United Nations Development Program, are at Eneko Island (No. 1 … called Enegu on the chart) and Enemanet Island (No. 2). The commercial moorings at No. 3 no longer exisit, with No. 4 being the only viable downtown moorings. The Yacht Club used to have a mooring off the Marshall Islands Resort (No. 5). It no longer exists.
