Payless and Island Pride Supermarkets both carry a healthy range of non-prescription medicines and simple medical supplies, including supplements. For prescription drugs there are two main choices: The private Majuro Clinic with Dr. Alex Pinano at the helm; and Majuro Hospital.

Majuro Clinic: Dr. Alex Pinano*, originally from the Philippines, is a long-time resident of Majuro and citizen of the Marshall Islands. The clinic is opposite the Marshall Island Visitor Authority in Small Island. The cost of a consultation usually includes the necessary medicine. Phone: (692) 625-6455.
Majuro Hospital: Run by the Ministry of Health, the hospital is in Delap behind the Capital building. Prescriptions are subsidized by the government. To access a doctor, go to the main entrance and inside to the right you can sign in for $20 ($5 for residents) and get a number for outpatients.
*Dr. Alex Pinano is also the Honorary Consul for the Philippines and is a long-time citizen of the Marshall Islands.
Note: Traditional Marshallese medicine is alive and well in the islands. The best way to learn about this is to read Traditional Medicine of the Marshall Islands by Dr. Irene Taafaki and Maria Fowler. It is listed on Amazon, but was out of stock last time I looked in November 2025. You may be able to find a copy at the College of the Marshall Islands Library or the University of the South Pacific library. Other sources are online secondhand book stores.
